We know a thing or two about ski holiday planning.
At Verbier Exclusive, our team are locals, parents, seasoned professionals and, above all, skiers. Our mantra? Success on a ski holiday is rarely about doing more. It is about choosing the right moment.
From the Concierge Team: Secure the moments that matter
The most important planning happens early. Ski schools and childcare providers fill their books weeks in advance, and guests have all regretted starting their first ski day in an equipment shop queue rather than carving into untouched corduroy (a moment of appreciation for in-chalet fittings). A top tip from our concierge team: pre-hire ski clothing from Cirkel Supply for a more sustainable way to pack light and guarantee good-looking, high-spec ski wear for the whole family. It will be waiting in the chalet wardrobe on arrival.
Once the essentials are secured, turn your attention to lunch restaurants. Planning favourites for later in the week means guests can fully savour that long lunch at Chez Dany once they have found their ski legs. For a deliciously unhurried option, try the new Le Table des Esserts directly on the beginner slope, and avoid racing downhill with the hordes for ski school pick-up.
For a moment of respite away from the slopes, the quietest spa window is between 11am and 2pm, when pools and relaxation spaces can be enjoyed in privacy and treatments are easier to secure before the apres-ski rush. And of course, you can always arrange those treatments in-chalet, too.
The golden rule is to make a few anchor bookings and leave space around them. Weather shifts, legs tire, plans evolve. Verbier rewards those who allow their days a little breathing room. Our concierge team’s role is not to fill every hour, but to remove the friction, so guests can ski well, eat well, and enjoy the pace of mountain life.
From the Drivers: Navigate the resort like a local
The sharpest skiers are not necessarily the fastest; they are simply in the right place at the right time. Medran’s morning rush peaks at 09:15, so leaving for the ski lifts five minutes earlier or later creates a smoother start, especially with little ones. During busier weeks, let our drivers drop you at Savoleyres and explore the La Tzoumaz side for relaxed skiing away from Medran, where runs come into uncrowded sunlight mid-morning.
Peak sunshine moments are worth chasing. For family photos, head toward La Chaux just before noon for bright light, expansive panoramas, and no rush to continue skiing (hello, Le Dahu). That bucket list trip up Mont Fort is best ticked off early, ideally before 10am, when crowds are thinner and the spectacular views are clearest. And the best day to explore the 4 Vallees? Wednesday, with confidence built and energy still high.
When returning, end the ski day with a relaxed drink halfway down the hill and let the queues dissipate before heading back into town. Evening chalet pick-ups are best timed just before apres finishes for the sweet spot between lively atmosphere and overcrowded streets. And when dining out late, trust our 24/7 drivers to navigate the backroads and ice for the quickest way home, with no waiting around in the cold.
From the Private Chefs: Authentic dining without the crowds
After the first couple of days of chasing first lifts, sometimes the best breakfast is a calm one. Linger over coffee, fuel up, and let the early-morning rush at Medran move on.
For those staying in a catered chalet, the pre-arrival chef call is a moment to personalise. Our chefs encourage guests to request favourite dishes or ingredients early, as local producers are in high demand during peak weeks. Securing the perfect cut of beef or a particular mountain cheese ensures your dining experience remains seasonal, authentic and special.
If you want a taste of Verbier’s culinary scene, mid-week evenings are ideal. By this point, guests are fully settled in and it feels like the perfect moment for a change of pace.
In our opinion, great food in the Alps is not about extravagance. It is about taking time to enjoy the day, the table, and the company around it.
