What makes the perfect 2025 ski outfit?

We understand all too well the annual balancing act of ensuring high performance, without compromising on style. The hunt for something that keeps you warm at altitude, yet transitions seamlessly into Verbier’s buzzing social scene – usually resulting in last minute packing panic and ski shop dashes.

We’ve teamed up with our premium skiwear rental partner, Cirkel Supply, and our partner retail store Mountain Air - to do this seasons legwork for you.

This winter brings a move toward long-line, sculpted silhouettes, buttery-soft technical fabrics, and colour palettes inspired by nature. Read on for our full guide on what to wear on the slopes this season, with all featured products available to either rent or buy.

Women’s Skiwear

Bold performance with a soft edge.

Forget bulky silhouettes. This year, slope style is about streamlined tailoring and modern colour palettes.

Halfdays – an American skiwear brand founded by Olympic skier Kiley McKinnon – has perfected this balance. Their Aston Jacket and Isabel Soft-Shell Bib Pant in Spiked Cocoa are designed for all-weather performance without compromising on fit and style. The belted jacket integrates waterproof, warm, and technical fabrics into a cinched silhouette, while the slim-fitting soft-shell bib pants provide immense comfort.

Looking for an outfit for a big-mountain adventure? The Fjällräven Women’s Bergtagen GORE-TEX Touring Jacket features a high-quality shell fabric that is integrated into a technical, high-performance jacket for deep-powder days or spring slush alike. In colder temperatures, pair it with an insulated midlayer and the matching bib pants to create a versatile layering system. We love Fjällräven’s minimalist design language and smart features, demonstrating that luxury on the mountain can also mean comfort without fuss.

Every good alpine outfit starts with merino leggings and long sleeve base layers. We love Mons Royale for fresh prints, and Icebreaker for a more understated look.

Skiwear for Men

Timeless kit, that means business.

Trends come and go, but technical excellence never dates. The Ortovox Ravine Free 3L jacket and pants are this year’s standout for high-performance outerwear (and our biggest colour splash): robust, weather-proof, and cut with a freeride silhouette that looks equally sharp at Carrefour Restaurant as it does on a windy traverse behind Mont Gele.

For the skier who favour performance, but with a nature-inspired colour palette, Fjällräven’s Bergtagen GTX Touring Jacket and Bibs deliver in spades. A subtle nod to their mountain heritage, the  Fjällräven Bergtagen range adds a modern twist that incorporates the new PFAS-free GORE-TEX fabric technology. Think clean lines, sustainable materials, and freedom of movement engineered for long days on the skin track.

And don't forget the humble base layer. We recommend merino due to the technical properties of this natural fabric: warmth, breathability and anti-odour. The Icebreaker 200 weight merino (such as the Oasis Long Sleeve Crewe) is the perfect foundation to any ski outfit. When the temperatures drop below zero, add a midlayer to these men’s ski outfits to ensure you can comfortably ski from first lift to last.

Ski Outfits for Kids

Warmth, freedom and fun.

Smaller skiers deserve gear that performs like the grown-up version (with extra cute points). Namuk’s ski jackets and snow pants, designed in Zurich, combine fun colours and prints with excellent waterproofing, serious insulation, and technical features. This winter, they have a shell option for boys and girls that pair perfectly with warm midlayers.

For the tiniest snow explorers, Patagonia’s Hi-Loft Down Sweater Bunting keeps babies and toddlers warm in their stroller during winter walks thanks to recycled down and a smart design that minimises faff getting in and out.

Apres-ski Outfits

Texture, tailoring and ease.

When the lifts cease turning, Verbier’s social scene picks up speed. Swap your ski shell for something a little more tactile.

For women, the Closed cropped jacquard cardigan adds just the right dose of alpine chic for lounging around your chalet after a long day on the slopes.

For men, the Foret Berry Overshirt is a polished layering piece that adds warmth and style, with thoughtful details like a corduroy collar that fits at the fireside or at apres-ski.

Must-have Ski Accessories

From finishing touches to functional essentials.

Protect against the winter chill with neckwear from Mons Royale that's designed to fit comfortably under your helmet or beanie.

Good quality eyewear is essential no matter the weather. For a sporty look, we love the SMITH Pursuit sunglasses that provide exceptional protection from the fierce alpine sun, whether you're lunching on a sunny terrace or ski touring the Rosablanche glacier.

For a fashion-forward take on eyewear, we recommend the unisex Raen Ynez, which combines a chunky frame with a variety of lens options.

Finalise your Verbier packing list

The skiwear outfits featured in this article are just a small selection of what's available for rent via Cirkel Supply.

Ask your concierge about renting before you travel, so that your dream outfit is ready and waiting in your chalet as you arrive. We’ll ensure you find the perfect outfit and skip lugging heavy bags of skiwear to the Alps.

The base layers, apres-ski, eyewear, and a wide range of apparel and ski equipment are available for purchase at Mountain Air.

This winter, it’s all about balancing function and form. For a more technical breakdown of what to wear on your ski trip, read this helpful article, or reach out to our concierge team for support to finalise your packing list.
