Discover surfing in the Alps, only 40 minutes away from Verbier.
Alaïa Bay is the first surfing wave pool in continental Europe, with more than 8,300m2 dedicated to surfing. Located in Sion, Valais, 40 minutes from Verbier, the wave pool is totally unique—there aren’t many places you can ski in the morning and surf in the afternoon!
Whether you are a beginner or an experienced surfer, the predictability and length of the waves generated by the wave pool and the absence of other distractions will allow you to surf easily and progress quickly, making it a perfect training ground for improving your surfing technique.
The Surf School offers a variety of lessons throughout the year. Whether you’re a complete beginner or an advanced surfer, there is a session for you.
A beginner lesson starts from CHF129 (for an adult) and CHF114 (for a child 8-12 years old)
It includes:
– All the necessary equipment
– Coaching in a group
– The security briefing
– A 1h30 lesson including 1 hour in the water
If you have surfed before and already know the basics but want to improve your technique, the ‘Waikiki’ and ‘Malibu’ time slots are allocated expert wave pool times. They allow you to practise the techniques you have learned or already know. A coach will supervise you throughout your hour of surfing.
Our concierge team can arrange a train ride to Sion or a private transfer from and to Verbier.
