Things to get excited about in-resort

New openings and fresh starts both on the slopes and at resort level hold promise for 2025/26 to be one of the most exciting seasons yet. Our own collection is evolving too, with new exclusive chalets joining the portfolio and a few of our most beloved properties undergoing elegant transformations. Read on to learn what to expect this season in Verbier.

A Fresh Chapter at Les Esserts

One of Verbier’s most recognisable dining addresses, perched above the golf course at Les Esserts, enters an exciting new era this winter. The much-loved team behind No.22 will take over the restaurant, bringing with them their creative alpine cuisine, impeccable service and a flair for atmosphere that has earned them a devoted following.

For locals and long-time visitors, this marks a highly anticipated revival of a venue with remarkable views and even greater potential, set to become a true highlight of Verbier’s dining scene.

Mountain Air’s new look

Our trusted partners at Mountain Air, the resort’s premier ski outfitter, are also turning heads with a sleek new look and refreshed store design that reflects their continued commitment to performance and style.

Verbier’s first pilates studio

Meanwhile, the lovely team behind The Verbier Touch, a long-standing favourite among our guests for massage therapy, are expanding their expertise with the opening of KŌR. This dedicated Pilates studio is designed for optimal strength, alignment and mindful movement.

The perfect apres antidote

Verbier’s wellness offering continues to evolve, catering to guests who value balance as much as adventure.

This season, premium IV drips and vitamin therapy from Virya Health are now bookable directly through your Verbier Exclusive concierge. Tailored to boost energy, recovery and immunity, they bring medical-grade wellness straight to your living room.

On The Slopes: The season of long-awaited lift upgrades

Verbier has long been known for world-class skiing and forward-thinking innovation. In April 2025, Verbier 4Vallees earned the Swisstainable Level III label, the highest level of Switzerland’s national sustainability programme, alongside the Valais Excellence certification. This double recognition underscores the resort’s commitment to balancing development with responsibility, and it sets the tone for the exciting upgrades arriving this winter.

The retirement of a Verbier icon

Few projects have been as anticipated as the arrival of the Telemixte lift at Savolyeres. Opening in two phases, and replacing Switzerland’s oldest (and arguably best-loved) cable car, this hybrid system will transform the way you access the slopes. In December 2025: the first section, Planards to Savoleyres, comes to life.

Offering the choice between the warmth of a gondola or the ease of a chairlift with skis on, the cutting-edge lift also promises significant energy savings and quieter operation, in line with Televerbier’s sustainability commitments.

And don’t worry, if you’re sad to see the classic retro (albeit wonky) bubbles disappearing from above the Sav slopes, they’ll be available on auction next summer!

Lac 2 gets a facelift

The faithful Lac 2 chairlift, in service since 1988, has also been given a bold new lease of life. This season sees the arrival of a detachable 6-seater lift that reduces the journey from five minutes to just three, and increases capacity from 1,200 to up to 2,000 skiers per hour.

The result? A smoother ride, easier access into the 4 Vallees, and (most importantly!) fewer bottlenecks during peak times. It is a small change with a big impact on how you'll experience the mountain.

On the horizon for powder hounds

Looking ahead to the 2026/27 season, work begins this year on the Six-Blanc 6-seater chairlift in Bruson. Linking the bottom of Pissevache to the top of Grand Tsai, it will make the ‘Sur le Six’ slopes quicker to reach and further enhance Bruson’s reputation as Verbier’s soulful, powder-filled counterpart.

Meteorologists predict a classic winter

If early forecasts are anything to go by, Verbier is set for a true alpine winter. Meteorologists predict colder, snow-rich months ahead, with early snow in the Arctic and a developing La Niña pattern indicating the perfect conditions for deep, dry powder days. The North Atlantic Oscillation is also expected to draw in generous Atlantic precipitation, colliding with cool air from the east to create ideal skiing conditions across the 4 Vallees.

And just in time, Verbier joins the Epic Pass network for Winter 2025/26, offering skiers five consecutive days of unrestricted access to the entire ski area.

Looking Forward

With new flavours, fresh faces and renewed energy across the resort, Verbier continues to evolve while holding fast to the qualities that make it timeless. Its latest accolade was awarded by Conde Nast Traveller in their 2025 Reader’s Choice Awards - coming in 6th in the list of ‘World’s Best Ski Resorts’.

Here is to another season of discovery, celebration and the unmistakable feeling of coming home to the mountains.
