Imagine yourself on a balmy summer day, strolling along a meadow-fringed fairway overlooked by the Mont Blanc Massif. It’s not a bad way to spend an afternoon if golf is your sport of choice. Verbier offers a variety of fantastic golfing options, from mini-golf to pitch and putt to the challenging 18-hole Golf Club de Verbier.

Golf Club de Verbier

Few golf courses in the world can boast such sumptuous and beautiful views as those in Verbier. The Golf Club de Verbier clubhouse is located in the exclusive Les Esserts part of the resort. Two minutes walk away is one of the most popular Ski Verbier Exclusive chalets, Les Attelas. The golf course is framed by giant pine and larch trees and is open from May until October. The holes meander through the undulating Les Esserts and Le Rouge nursery ski slopes, which are familiar terrain to our winter skiers. The course measures 5,277 yards from the back tees. We can arrange private or group lessons, and there is a junior academy for budding Tigers. For those wishing to perfect their short game, the 18-hole Les Moulins pitch-and-putt course is perfectly located in the heart of Verbier.

Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club

For truly dedicated golfers, the Ski Verbier Exclusive concierge team can arrange a day trip to Crans-sur-Sierre or Chamonix golf clubs, which are only a 45-minute drive from Verbier. Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club was originally constructed in 1906 and is located at an altitude of 1500m on a picture-postcard plateau overlooking the mighty River Rhone. If you can avoid being lured into the Rhone Valley for a spot of fine wine tasting, Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club is widely regarded as the best golf course in the Alps.

The great Seve Ballesteros redesigned the course, and it is home to the Omega European Masters, one of the most prestigious events on the European Tour. First staged in 1939, the tournament usually takes place in the first week in September. Previous winners include Ernie Els, Sergio Garcia, Jose Maria Olazabal, Nick Faldo and Seve himself on three separate occasions. If you are short of time, you may want to try out the beautiful Jack Niklaus-designed 9-hole course.

Chamonix Golf Club

The golf course in the Chamonix valley is situated next to the chocolate-box Alpine village of Les Praz. Opening as a 9-hole course in 1934, a further nine holes were added in 1982. The relaunched 18-hole Chamonix Golf Club was designed by legendary golf course designer Robert Trent-Jones Snr. Chamonix’s golf course is 6,645 yards long and is often described as France's most beautiful golf course. The views towards Mont Blanc and the Dru will inspire you as you plot your way round this challenging course.

So, when planning your next golf break, we highly recommend basing your party in one of our luxury Verbier chalets, which offer fine dining and dedicated concierge service. Then, set out into the pine-scented Swiss mountain air with a luxury hamper and caddy to truly provide one of the best golfing experiences anywhere in the world.
